OUR MISSION
WE ARE ARE A 501(C)(3) TAX EXEMPT NON PROFIT CORPORATION. OUR MISSION IS TO INCREASE THE PROBABILITY OF FUTURE SUCCESS AND EMPLOYMENT FOR AMATEUR ATHLETES.
Reimagine Athletes Inc. is building an endowment at a grass roots level. This endowment will be used to pay grants to amateur athletes. The grantees will be plugged into a network of financial, tax and legal professionals who will educate them on how to grow and manage that money. We are reimagining financial literacy and what it means to be a student athlete.
Only 1.6% of all athletes will play professionally, yet the majority (85%) of the 47% coming from disadvantaged economic areas believe their best chance at future success is at the professional level. Regardless of how or why this message is being communicated, it must change. Outside of sports, these athletes have exhibited the fundamental attributes necessary to achieve future success in other areas.
Our first grantees will come from the University of Colorado at Boulder. The pool of grantees will come from Men’s Football, Women’s Basketball and Men’s Basketball. Each grant will be split equally amongst the population of these athletes. We are aware of which sports do and don’t generate revenue. We don’t care. Our goal is to build a bridge over an opportunity gap we believe has developed over decades. We believe there is simplicity in equality. We are not here to buy athletes to win games. We are here to invest in the lives of individuals so they have the best chance at a prosperous future.
